ABERDEEN TOWNSHIP POLICE DEPARTMENT PRESS RELEASE

During the early morning hours of December 04, 2023, the Aberdeen Township Police Department was alerted of two female juveniles knocking on doors, attempting to find a place to sleep. A resident called 9-1-1 to report this occurrence. What followed was 20 hours of diligent police work by our department’s patrol division and detective bureau, along with assistance from the Marlboro Township Police Department, Old Bridge Township Police Department and the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.

This outstanding police work led to charging Benjamin Pessin, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with (1) count of Kidnapping , (2) counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and (1) count of Aggravated Sexual Assault. Our Detectives and Patrol Officers moved at a rapid pace to ensure justice for our victims as well as the removal of a threat from the public.

The children were reunited safely with their mother and the family has returned home.

If anyone has any information regarding this incident or has had any previous dealings with Pessin, please contact lead investigator Detective Heather Ford at [email protected]. Should there be an immediate need for assistance from the Aberdeen Township Police Department, call our direct line, 732-566-2054, in order to expedite our response time.

Press release prepared by Capt. Craig Hausmann 732-566-2054 Ext. 220 or [email protected]

🇺🇸We need your help! 🇺🇸
Volunteers are needed today 11/28, and Thursday 11/30 to help finish our handmade Burrowes Mansion flags. We will be meeting from 4-7 pm at Matawan Borough Hall to finish glazing and antiquing the assembled flags.

These custom flags are each unique and made from original Burrowes Mansion shingles that came off during recent renovations.

These 100% volunteer-made flags were sold as a fundraiser that helped fund our Burrowes Mansion 300th anniversary event this past June and will be ready for delivery in the coming weeks.

Thank you once again to all our sponsors for your support (and patience!) as we work to get these finished and delivered.

If you’re interested in volunteering to help us finish off the remaining flags please message us.

We are excited about our Annual Christmas Tree Lighting this coming Thursday!! Hope to see you there !! 🎄 🎅🏻 🎁
