Our Bird Feeder Painting, which was supposed to be held at our Bird Viewing Area picnic tables, is going to be moved inside the Castle at 11am.

The rain is going to stop by then, but it definitely won't dry out in time. And then it's supposed to storm again around 11:30/11:45am.

If you're camping in the park right now and feel rained in, come hang out with us at the CCC Refectory/Castle (it's air conditioned!)

Wildlife Wednesday!

Two months ago, our water was at 8.3%, and we uploaded a video showing some cool stuff resurfacing.

It's June, and we are sitting at 24.1% and rising. We went back out to a "cool old stuff" site and couldn't even get there anymore.

With all of the changes in our shoreline in a short time, what happens to the animals?

Mostly, they adapt. We help them by keeping sections of the shoreline unmowed so that animals can have cover from predators while they go for a drink of water.

Which animal tracks have you been seeing in all this mud?

Upcoming Park Activities:
June 6th- Storm Survival Game (45 mins)
June 6th- WildCraft/Arts and Craft (45 mins)
June 9th- Catch us at the Beeville Library at 3pm (45 mins)
June 10th- Spear Throwing (1 hr 15mins)

Welcoming our Summer 2026 intern, Kylie Day!

Kylie goes to school at Texas A&M and is set to graduate in December.

State Park interns are given the opportunity to learn all aspects of park operations. Kylie already has some experience with educational program assistance, and will help out over the summer at Lake Corpus Christi!

Everyone say hi 👋 to Kylie!

Wildlife Wednesday!

As the summer season approaches, keep in mind that awareness of your surroundings is key to having a safe and fun trip to state parks.

When in nature, your sight and hearing are crucial for avoiding disturbing the locals... in this case, a (plastic) rattlesnake!

Also, please avoid killing anything at our state parks. See a snake on the road? Drive around it! A turtle? Let it cross (but don't pick it up). We are in the animal's home and they deserve respect. And, our attention!

June programs are here!
{We changed the June Fishing 101 to Friday the 19th due to scheduling conflicts. Don't come on the 18th; we won't be there!}

For more details, check out our official event website: https://tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/lake-corpus-christi/park_events

Spear Throwing, Bird House Crafts and June Fishing 101 are on weekdays because school is out for the summer! Is your camp/church/scout troop looking for private programming? Reach out to either this page or [email protected] to schedule a timeslot! We strongly suggest requesting programming a month in advance.

Are you a Girl Scout? In September, we are having a Dutch Oven Cook-Off! DM this page or email [email protected] for more details.

Upcoming Activities (and weather)!

(We are watching the weather for the next two weeks. It will be rainy! If activities are cancelled or postponed, we will update you on this page.)

There is only one more Mini Fish, on May 30th. There are spots open! If you don't want your kids to miss out on free fishing lessons and a free pole to keep, sign up here: https://fs18.formsite.com/TPWD/0nn0mu6umj/index

We will (hopefully) have Birding 101 on Saturday morning. If it is raining last-minute, it is possible to move it inside and learn the basics of bird ID, helpful apps and how to use binoculars/basic cameras.

We will (hopefully) have a History Ranger Talk on Saturday afternoon, which is able to be moved inside as well! There are some telegrams, stories and old documents from the park being built in the 1930s we'd like to share.

Hope to see you all there!
