Jovan is married to Chandra Joseph-Lacet for 17 years they are proud parents of 2 wonderful children, Maya (14), and Imani (10). Jovan, was in the United States Marine Corps at the age of eighteen, graduated from Hyde Park High School. After the Marines, Jovan received his Bachelor’s Degree of Arts at the University of Massachusetts at Boston. Jovan mentored at-risk youth in Dorchester, Mattapan a
nd Roxbury and guided many younger students on the path to success while he attended UMass Boston. Jovan received a Juris Doctor degree from Hofstra School of Law, Hempstead, NY. Jovan worked for The Massachusetts Department of Youth Services at Brighton Treatment Center, as a youth counselor after he graduated from law school. Jovan was admitted into the Massachusetts bar in June 1997 while he worked at Brighton Treatment Center. In June 1998 Jovan entered the Boston Police Academy. Jovan graduated from the Academy in January 1999. He was immediately assigned to Boston Police District 11, Dorchester. Jovan served the Dorchester residents and other Boston residents with distinction and respect as a Boston Police Officer. For the pass eighteen years Jovan continues his legal practice as a private attorney at The Law Offices of Jovan J. Lacet, and Boston Attorneys, LLC.
