Again New England weather is a major hindrance to our lighthouse staff.
Rain is in the forecast this weekend forcing another rain cancellation of a planned event.
Pirates at Ned’s Point Lighthouse is cancelled.
The pirates are headed to the Caribbean or Florida where the pirating is good this time of the year.
Let’s hope Santa has better weather coming in from the North Pole on December 16th.

Article for News Release
USCG Auxiliary Onset-Marion Flotilla 63

To our students who have been participating in our Boating Safety & Seamanship Course - We are unable to continue to meet due to the “Corona Virus” (COVID-19). We tried postponing for three (3) weeks, hoping to restart on Thursday, April 2nd, but we unable to meet that goal because of the update announcements by Governor Charles Baker . I am sure you are aware he is expanding the Quarantine in place, Social Distancing and other preventive measures to stop the spreading of COVID-19,

I am sorry and it is unfortunate that will have to cancel the remainder of the Boating Safety & Seamanship Course for the safety of everyone.

I would like to take this time to remind you of two things:
1. Your text book is an important tool, and I hope you will take this time, maybe during your quarantine tine, to study it (check Page 382 of your book for a study guide) and then later you will be able to apply it to experience the best boating season to ever.
2. Our Boating Courses are “FREE” in the USCG Auxiliary. You have already purchased the text book, please come back and see us.

Thank you and Safe Boating!
Warren Washburn,
Flotilla Commander 63
