💰🔥The Mattapoisett Fire Department is happy to announce that we have received a $7,000 grant through the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation. The funds from this 50/50 match grant will be utilized to purchase equipment and enhance our capabilities in fighting forest and wildland fires.

Mattapoisett Chief 1 and Engine 1 spent yesterday afternoon helping Rochester with a stubborn Fire at a waste facility in their town. During this incident, we also provided fire coverage for the town of Marion with our Engine 2 while they sent additional apparatus to the SEMASS/Covanta facility.

Exciting News!!

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been honored to receive nearly $25,000 in grants to support our community's safety and education initiatives.

$15,500 of this funding will go directly toward enhancing our communications and improving Firefighter safety. The remaining funds will be dedicated to fire education and outreach programs, focusing on school-age children and senior citizens through the SAFE program.

We’re grateful for these opportunities to better serve and protect our community. Thank you to all of our state and local partners for supporting these programs!!
