It is hard to believe my term as president of the South Suburban Cook HR Association is coming to an end. It’s been an incredible journey, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have served in this role.
When I first stepped into this position, It was at the beginning of the pandemic, I just completed my Masters program and I had a broken foot. I knew it would be a challenge, but I didn’t fully understand just how rewarding it would be. Leading an association dedicated to advancing the field of human resources, supporting each chapter and board member and working toward our shared vision has been an honor and a privilege.
None of this would have been possible without the dedication and hard work of each member, and especially our incredible board members who gave their time, expertise, and passion to move us forward.
I want to express my deepest gratitude to each of you for your support, your ideas, and your commitment. I am especially thankful to Sharon and Dee who stood by my side through the challenges and triumphs. Your insight, guidance, and camaraderie have made this journey not only manageable but truly enjoyable.
As we look to the future, I am confident in the leadership that will carry this organization forward with LaJune Davis Wiley at the helm I know she will bring fresh ideas, boundless energy, and the same dedication to this role. I look forward to seeing the new heights that SSCHRA will reach under her leadership.
Though my term as president may be ending, I am committed to supporting this organization and its mission in any way I can. We are part of a profession that plays a crucial role in shaping the future of work and in fostering workplaces where people can truly thrive. That’s a mission that never ends, and it’s one I am proud to continue alongside all of you.
