What an incredible evening with our Brothers from all over the great state of North Carolina celebrating WB Bob Braswell for his 50 years of service as a certified lecturer. Thank you to all the guys from our lodge who came out and join the 90+ brothers and all the guests. A huge thank you and a job well done to Steele Creek Lodge for a wonderful dinner, great fellowship, and excellent meeting. It was a night for the record books. See you all again soon. 💪

See you all tomorrow!

A message from Mayor John Higdon:

"With the holiday weekend now underway, I'd like to take a moment to reflect on the significance of Memorial Day.

"During this time of year, I enjoy walking through downtown Matthews and seeing the Hometown Hero banners honoring our service members. Each one reminds us of the sacrifices made by our military members and their families. I want to thank each of them for their service and for allowing the Town of Matthews to honor them in this special way.

"Memorial Day is a time to come together in gratitude and reflection as we pay tribute to our fallen heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. In a world where conflicts continue to arise, these sacrifices resonate more deeply. This day reminds us of the true cost of freedom and the enduring strength of our nation.

"The annual Memorial Day ceremony will be held at 11:00 am on Monday at Matthews Veterans Memorial Park, adjacent to Stumptown Park. I regret that I cannot attend this year’s ceremony, but my thoughts are with you all as you come together to pay tribute to our fallen heroes."
