Understanding Area Median Income (AMI) is key when talking about affordable housing. AMI represents the middle point of a region’s income spectrum—half of the households earn more, and half earn less. It’s a vital benchmark that mirrors the economic conditions of an area.

In our New Construction program, we've set a minimum household income of $45,000 to ensure families are financially stable enough for homeownership. We also cap the maximum household income at 80% of AMI, making sure our assistance reaches those who might not qualify for conventional financing options.

One of the many issues our Critical Home Repair program addresses is home accessibility. 6.8 million households in the United States report difficulty using or navigating their homes - especially among older households and people with disabilities. Our Critical Home Repair program can help alleviate these issues by installing modifications to increase accessibility.
