Tonight our community stands with Sergeant Thomas Duran of the El Reno Police Department — a devoted law enforcement officer, husband, and father who was critically injured in the line of duty.

His courage and service reflect the very best of those who protect and serve, and our hearts go out to his family, his department, and all who wear the badge.

We ask our community to lift Sgt. Duran and his loved ones up in prayer, and to honor him by embracing the same spirit of unity and compassion that defines our law enforcement family.

Let’s show our thanks and respect for Sgt. Duran, and remind his family that they are not alone.

Tonight, we proudly retired a badge, a powerful symbol of a young man who passionately served and protected, a young man whose love for the community inspired us all. This extraordinary individual I had the privilege of knowing and calling not only a brother in blue but a brother in spirit. City of Maud Police Department Badge 14 will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Retirement of Maud Badge 14, 10-20-2025 may you rest easy brother, knowing we continue to carry the torch.
