This is regarding the hay ride that was cancelled: the fire chief never told anyone that the hay ride had to be cancelled. The guy that was hosting it cancelled it on his own accord. The chief never said it had to be cancelled.

It is with a heavy heart that I announce that on September 10, 2017, Oakland Fire & Rescue lost one heck of a Chief and Firefighter, John Shoemaker. R.I.P Oakland 300, we'll take it from here. God speed, Chief.
