A huge thank you to everyone who came out for the Glow Roll!

It was great to see so many riders light up the streets of Maumee and enjoy a fun, safe evening together. Special thanks to all the volunteers, organizers, and community partners who helped make the event possible.

The glowing bikes looked amazing, and the energy from everyone who participated made for a fantastic night. We appreciate everyone who joined us and helped showcase what makes our community so special.

Light up the night with your bike and join the Maumee Glow Roll presented by MUBA, Mountain Man, and the City of Maumee!

If you can ride approximately 10 MPH for 10 miles, come out for a fun community night ride through Maumee. Decorate your bike with lights, glow gear, and anything bright!

We’re excited to have several amazing community partners participating, and for the first time, we’re partnering with Maumee Valley Adventurers to offer adaptive bikes to help make the event more inclusive and accessible for all riders.

Whether you want to practice bike safety skills, check out the activities, or just enjoy a fun night with the family, we’d love to see you there!

2026 Memorial Day Parade

Metroparks Toledo is overseeing a major ecological restoration project at Audubon Islands State Nature Preserve in the Maumee River between Maumee and Perrysburg. The approximately 160-acre island complex, owned by Metroparks Toledo, is undergoing shoreline and aquatic habitat improvements funded through $3.9 million in Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI) and Ohio EPA Section 319 grants.

The project is designed to improve and protect habitat for fish and benthic organisms by creating more diverse shoreline conditions and improving in-water habitat. Planned improvements include installing stone shelves, engineered log jams, rock barrier reefs, and streambank plantings to create more resilient shoreline ecosystems. Additional work includes deepening portions of the cove, adding woody habitat structures, and stabilizing eroding island banks to better withstand changing water levels and stronger river flows. Overall, the restoration aims to enhance ecological health while reducing long-term erosion impacts throughout the island complex.

Photos show several portions of the project where restoration work has already been completed, highlighting shoreline stabilization measures, newly installed habitat features, and improvements designed to support long-term environmental resilience within the preserve.

A reminder that the island is a State Nature Preserve and people are prohibited from walking on any portion of the island.

Today, on Peace Officers Memorial Day during National Police Week, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

Law enforcement is more than a profession, it is a commitment to serve, protect, and stand for others, often in moments of great danger and uncertainty. We recognize not only those we have lost, but also the families, friends, and fellow officers who continue to carry their memory forward.

As we reflect, we are reminded of the proud history of the Maumee Police Department and the generations of officers who have worn the badge with honor. Looking back at old photos of Maumee Police officers through the years serves as a powerful reminder that while uniforms and equipment may change, the dedication to this community remains the same.

We honor their legacy.
We remember their sacrifice.
We carry their commitment forward.
