To think we were swimming with water a month ago and now we are just looking for some moisture for the plants and the farmers! See below for a heat and drought onset that is shaping up for the end of next week! Monitor the forecast and water the plants if you can!

High pressure and southerly flow favor heat index values reaching the mid-upper 90’s F across the north-central U.S. during week-2, supporting a moderate risk of extreme heat. A risk of Rapid Onset Drought has been designated for parts of the Middle and Upper Mississippi Valley.

Did you wish your favorite state a birthday today!? Happy fish fry Friday! Happy birthday to our great state!

On May 29, 1848, Wisconsin officially became the 30th state in the Union. Originally part of the Northwest Territory, Wisconsin's growing population and booming agriculture, mining, and trade industries helped pave the way to statehood. Madison was chosen as the capital, and the Badger State soon became known for its hardworking communities, rich natural resources, and strong immigrant heritage.

Happy Statehood Day, Wisconsin! 🧀🌲🇺🇸

Good day! See attached for the latest weather information for tonight’s storms! Storms are expected to be weaker than previously thought!

The threat for severe weather tonight has decreased across much of the area with decreasing confidence in the storms being able to maintain their strength after they develop across eastern Nebraska and Western Iowa this afternoon. Overall, there looks to be a lot of atmospheric stability that these storms will need to overcome in order to maintain their potency into this evening. As such, much of the area has been downgraded to a Marginal Risk (Level 1/5) with damaging winds and marginally large hail the main hazards.

Even though conditions don't look nearly as favorable as they did earlier, stay weather aware tonight and be prepared to take action should these storms keep their act together!

With a nice day in-front of us, Be alert this evening for the potential of severe weather. The storms may roll through when we are sleeping tonight! Make sure you check the forecast prior to nodding off this evening!

5/18 6AM - Another round of scattered severe storms are possible primarily this evening into tonight. Higher confidence for severe storms forming southwest of the area in central Iowa this afternoon weaken as they shift northeast through the evening into the nighttime hours. Similar to Sunday's severe weather threat, amount of weakening and timing remain the forecast detail to closely monitor. Highest confidence locally for damaging winds as the main threat with isolated tornadoes and large hail as secondary threats. Should stronger storms reach the local area earlier, tornadoes and large hail would also be a primary threat concern. Have multiple ways to receive warnings especially while sleeping given the potential nighttime severe weather threat.

Another day of weather folks! Monitor forecasts and weather channels for severe weather! Remember to have multiple ways to receive weather alerts!

5/17 6:00AM - Scattered severe storms remain possible (2/5) tonight and Monday night for much of the local area.
Higher probability for severe storms today initially forming west of the local area through the afternoon and evening, shifting east into the nighttime hours. A weakening trend as storms shift east limits local confidence for storm severity, highest from northeast Iowa into southeast Minnesota and west-central Wisconsin primarily for damaging winds.
Similar situation for Monday as higher confidence for storm formation remains southwest of the local area, shifting northeast through the evening and nighttime hours primarily threatening the local area with damaging winds. Low probability (15%) for storms forming over the area through Monday afternoon and evening would increase local severe threat to include large hail and tornadoes. Monitor forecasts and prepare now for potential severe weather impacts.
