Foster care is home-like care provided by licensed foster parents for children who cannot live with their parents. Placement in foster care is usually temporary and gives families time to make necessary changes so the child can safely live in his or her home and community. Most children in foster care return home to their families, which is called reunification. When children cannot return home, they find permanence through adoption, guardianship, or other means.

Our Children, Youth, and Families unit is hosting Back to School event! We will have gently used clothes, shoes, and gear.

When: Thursday 8/28, 10am to 4pm and Friday 8/29, 9 am to 2pm
Where: Services Building, 2nd floor, Room 206

Starting Tomorrow!! Please come to the free clothing event at DHS in Mauston, second floor, in waiting room, room 209. If anyone needs last minute gifts for their family, there is a really cool Princess Castle that I saw in there. Event runs Thursday, 19th and Friday, 20th from 8-4!

Juneau County DHS had so much fun at the Mauston Fire Department on 12/07/24. We truly appreciate all the fire safety that was taught to us and our little families!! Thank you to all that came out on your busy Saturdays!! We are blessed to have the dedication these Fire Fighters have in our community, saving our lives!!
