CWCAC Energy Assistance Program - Juneau County Operating with Federal and State funding, We provide assistance for heating costs, electric costs, and energy crisis situations.

HOME ENERGY PLUS INCLUDES THE WISCONSIN HOME ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (WHEAP) AND WEATHERIZATION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (WAP). WHEAP ASSISTANCE IS A ONE TIME PAYMENT DURING THE HEATING SEASON (OCT 1 - MAY 15). CRISIS ASSISTANCE IS AVAILABLE IF NO HEAT, HAVE RECEIVED A DISCONNECT NOTICE FROM THE VENDOR, OR ARE NEARLY OUT OF FUEL AND ARE UNABLE TO PURCAHSE MORE. WE ALSO CAN PROVIDE SERVICES TO ELIGIBLE HOMEOWNERS IF THE FURNACE OR BOILERS STOP OPERATING.

2023-2024 Income Guidelines for the upcoming season starts October 1st -May 15th. Short form applications will be mailed in September. Please call our office for appointments to apply in September around the 15th.
Please note to call our office before you come to appointment to verify address as our office will be moving, just not sure when new construction will be completed.

In response to the COVID-19 crisis, the Department of Administration (DOA) has adjusted the eligibility requirements for residents who are seeking heating and electric assistance through the Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program (WHEAP).

Eligibility is now based on the household's previous month of income, rather than the former requirement of the previous three months of income. This move was made to ensure those who are recently affected by the COVID-19 response are able to receive assistance quickly. Eligibility requirements are available below:

The Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program (WHEAP) provides assistance for heating costs, electric costs, and energy crisis situations. Operating with federal and state funding, the program provides assistance to households across the state to help lower the burden incurred with monthly energy costs.

Most types of fuel are eligible to receive assistance. Whether you use wood, propane, natural gas, electricity, or fuel oil to heat your home, energy assistance is available if you qualify.

1. Social Security numbers and Date of Births of each person in household
2. Proof of all income from anyone in household 18 an older- work, child support, SSI, SS, SSDI ETC.
3. Food Share Letter First 5 Pages
4. Landlord’s name and address if you are a renter
5. Heat Provider- cost from 9/1/20 to 8/31/21- if no cost then account number
6. Electric Provider and Costs- 9/1/20 to 8/31/21- if no cost bring account number
7. If you have Alliant or MGE please just bring Account Number- DO NOT CALL THESE PROVIDERS
If a customer is having difficulty paying their energy bill or receives a disconnection notice, they may be eligible for assistance from the Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program (WHEAP)
