EXCELLENCE RECEPTION 2026: The Mayfield City Schools Excellence Reception is one of our most meaningful traditions — honoring the Top 40 seniors from the graduating class alongside the teachers who made the biggest impact on their education and lives.
From elementary classrooms to middle school hallways to high school mentors, these influential educators helped inspire curiosity, confidence, hard work, and success every step of the way.

READY FOR PLAY: Duck, dodge, strike - The new Gaga Ball pit at MMS is officially ready for play! Gaga Ball is a fast-paced, high-energy game where players battle it out in the pit by striking the ball with their hands and trying to avoid getting hit below the knee. Last one standing wins!
A huge shout out to the incredible students and staff who helped bring this project to life — our Excel TECC Horticulture Program and Kim Haydu, along with MMS students Ben B., Cam L. and Sebastian S. These students worked incredibly hard and are proud to leave their mark on campus with this awesome addition.
And a HUGE thank you to MMSA for funding this exciting project and helping create even more fun opportunities for our students!

A WILD SUCCESS! The finale event of Cubs Club on May 13 brought together hundreds of families as our future Wildcats officially signed their Kindergarten certificates and took their first step into the Mayfield family! Principals estimate nearly 160 students became future Wildcats, while more than 300 families attended the celebration.
Even more exciting — Cubs Club outreach has connected with more than 300 new families with children ages 0-5, including an estimated 250 families exploring Mayfield schools for the very first time.
“We’re bringing our future kids together,” said Nicki Rucci, Principal, Mayfield Preschool. “The success of Cubs Club has exceeded our expectations. It's become a huge community engagement initiative and opportunity to build relationships because that’s Mayfield! Cubs Club is a huge win for our schools, community, and especially our littlest learners."

DRESSED TO HELP OTHERS: Members of the Mayfield Vocal Music Theatre Troupe volunteered at the March of Dimes, March for Babies at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo on Sunday, May 3rd. Six students dressed up as Elsa, Cinderella, Prince Charming, Tiana, Rapunzel, and Flynn Rider to meet, interact with, and take photos with children and community members from all over the greater-Cleveland area who attended. Thank you students for always giving back to the community!
