Community Support Makes a Difference

The members of the Mayflower Fire Department would like to extend a sincere thank you to Sam’s Club for their generous donation of 20 cases of bottled water to our department.

As temperatures continue to rise, staying hydrated is critical for our firefighters during training, emergency responses, and community events. This donation will help ensure our personnel have access to the resources they need while serving the citizens of Mayflower.

We are grateful for community partners like Sam’s Club who recognize and support the work of first responders. Your generosity is appreciated and will have a direct impact on the men and women who answer the call when our community needs us most.

Thank you, Sam’s Club of Conway, for your support of the Mayflower Fire Department and the community we proudly serve. 🚒💙

Today was a great day for the Mayflower Fire Department.

A huge thank you to Adam Cordell and Dixie Rescue Solutions for helping us equip our firefighters with new forcible entry tools. These tools will enhance our ability to gain access quickly, safely, and effectively when seconds matter most.

Investments like this directly impact our operational readiness and our ability to serve the citizens of Mayflower. Having the right equipment in the hands of well-trained firefighters makes a difference on every emergency scene.

We appreciate Adam’s support of the fire service and his commitment to ensuring departments have the tools they need to succeed.

Looking forward to getting these tools into training and putting them to work.

🚒 PUBLIC NOTICE 🚒

The Mayflower Fire Department will begin routine hydrant testing throughout the city over the coming days.

During this process, residents may notice temporary drops in water pressure or occasional discoloration in their water. While this can be inconvenient, it is a normal part of hydrant maintenance and helps ensure our fire hydrants are operating properly and ready to protect our community when needed.

If you experience discolored water, running cold water for a few minutes will typically clear it up.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to maintain and improve the safety and reliability of our fire protection system.

This week, MFD had the opportunity to spend some time with the kids at the elementary school for Water Day… and let’s just say Ladder #55 understood the assignment. 🚒💦

Turns out, a fire truck ladder makes one HECK of a sprinkler system. The kids had an absolute blast trying to outrun the water, while our crew may or may not have enjoyed soaking a few teachers too. 😎

We’re thankful for opportunities like these to connect with our community outside of emergencies. Seeing those smiles reminds us why small-town community means so much.

Big thanks to the school for inviting us out….and sorry in advance to the parents for the extra wet clothes. 😂

Last night, our members had the opportunity to train on an acquired structure, and it made all the difference.

This type of training allows us to go beyond the basics and work on the skills that matter most when it counts. Crews performed vertical ventilation, practiced VEIS (Vent, Enter, Isolate, Search), and got hands-on experience with forcible entry tasks like breaking windows, removing frames, and pulling ceiling.

These are critical skills that we don’t always get to fully simulate in a controlled environment. Having access to a real structure allows our firefighters to train the way we fight….. realistic, hands-on, and mission-focused.

We’re thankful for the opportunity and for the members who continue to show up, put in the work, and sharpen their skills.

Training like this directly translates to better service for our community.

The Mayflower Fire Department will be conducting training operations tonight in the area of Short Circle Drive.

Citizens may notice an increased fire department presence, including personnel and apparatus in the area. This is a planned training event and not an emergency.

We appreciate your understanding as we continue to train and prepare to better serve our community.
