🔥 Firefighter of the Week: Jason Hunt 🔥
Jason Hunt has called Mayflower home his entire life and takes great pride in serving the community he loves. When asked why he became a firefighter, Jason said, “I can’t think of a better way to serve my community than to be a first responder.”
Jason is dedicated to growing his skills and expanding his knowledge as a firefighter. He plans to attend the Fire Academy later this year as he continues his journey in the fire service.
When he's not volunteering with the department, Jason enjoys watching baseball and spending time outdoors with family and friends.
We are grateful to have Jason as part of the Mayflower Fire Department family. His commitment to serving others and willingness to answer the call makes a difference in our community every day.

🔥 Burn Ban Lifted 🔥
The burn ban for Faulkner County has been lifted.
Residents may resume outdoor burning; however, we encourage everyone to continue practicing safe burning habits. Always monitor your fire, keep a water source nearby, and never leave a fire unattended.
Weather conditions can change quickly, so please use caution and be mindful of your neighbors and surrounding property.
If you have any questions regarding outdoor burning, please contact the Mayflower Fire Department.

Today, the Mayflower Fire Department responded to a reported grass fire in the area of Highway 89 and Easterwood Point.
Thanks to the quick response and coordinated efforts of Highway 286 Fire Department, Beaverfork Fire Department, Saltillo Fire Department, Pine Village Fire Department, Hilltop Fire Department, and the Arkansas Forestry Commission, firefighters were able to contain the fire to just over one acre and prevent it from spreading further.

Reminder: We are still under a burn ban. Current dry conditions and elevated fire danger make outdoor burning extremely hazardous. Please refrain from any activities that could spark a fire and help us keep our community safe.

Thank you to all responding personnel for their hard work and dedication today.

Mayflower Fire Department will be testing our newly installed tornado warning system today at 3:00 PM.

This is a test of the new activation equipment and does not indicate severe weather.

Following today’s test, we will return to our regularly scheduled tornado siren tests on Wednesdays at 12:00 PM.

🚨 TORNADO SIREN TEST 🚨

If you heard the tornado sirens go off today, don’t be alarmed! This was a scheduled test of our department’s new tornado siren activation system.

We are excited to have this new system in place as another tool to help keep our community informed and protected during severe weather. While we hope we never have to activate the sirens for an actual tornado, having reliable equipment and making sure it works properly is critical.

Today’s test allows us to make sure the system is functioning as it should before we need it for a real emergency.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue working to improve emergency preparedness and public safety in our community.

Stay weather aware, stay prepared, and as always… if you hear those sirens during severe weather, take them seriously and seek shelter immediately.

🔥 BURN BAN IN EFFECT 🔥

With the current heat, dry conditions, and increased fire danger, we are asking everyone in our community to take the burn ban seriously.

What starts as a small backyard burn, brush pile, or controlled fire can quickly become an uncontrolled fire …especially in these conditions. Our firefighters are already working in extreme heat, and the last thing we need is a preventable fire putting additional lives, homes, property, and firefighters at risk.

🔥 Meet Firefighter Dominic 🔥

For the past three years, Dominic has proudly served his community while continuing to grow and develop within the fire service. Dedicated to learning and improving his skills, he consistently seeks opportunities to gain experience and become a stronger firefighter.

Throughout his fire service career, Dom has served in volunteer, part-time, and full-time roles with the Beaverfork Volunteer Fire Department, Mayflower Fire Department, and Hot Springs Village Fire Department. His commitment to helping others and answering the call to serve reflects the passion and dedication he brings to the profession every day.

When he's not on duty, Dom enjoys spending time outdoors hunting and fishing, making memories with his fiancée, family, and friends, and cheering on the Oklahoma State Cowboys.

Josh has been married to his wife for 10 years, and together they have two children. He works full-time in Bryant and stays active with his family, who share a passion for sports and fitness.

When he's not at work or serving the community, Josh enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending as much time outdoors as possible with his family.

Whether it's on the water, in the woods, or cheering from the sidelines, family time is what matters most to him.

We are proud to have Josh as part of the Mayflower Fire Department family!
