Heavy rain and strong winds are expected throughout the day, and we have already responded to reports of downed trees and utility wires.

đźš« Assume ALL downed wires are energized and dangerous. Never touch or drive over downed wires, and keep children and pets well away from the area.

📞 Report downed wires and emergencies by calling 911.

🔌 If you experience a power outage, please report it directly to Eversource at 1-800-592-2000. Reporting outages directly to Eversource helps crews identify affected areas and restore power as quickly as possible.

Please use caution while traveling today, especially on roads where trees, limbs, or wires may be present.

DPW – Emergency notification – Water and Sewer Department. We are reporting a vehicle accident that has caused significant damage to a fire Hydrant on Great Road and Old Mill Road. Currently, the Department of Public Works Water and Sewer division is working to shut down water in the area to isolate the problem. A significant number of customers will be effected by low water pressure and discolored water as a result of the issue. Customers on Great Road between Marlboro Street and the Sudbury town line, as well as Old Mill Road will be without water until this break is repaired. The severity of the damage is still being assessed. This repair will take all day and possibly continue into the night in order for water to be restored. Great road traffic will be detoured, and this will cause major traffic delays in this area. Please be patient as crews work to reduce the impact of the emergency while working on conducting repairs as required

Today, we recognize International Firefighter Day.

It also happens to be a big day for us at Maynard Fire. We had the pleasure of swearing in our newest firefighter, FF. Derek Murphy. A proud moment for Derek, his family, and our department as he begins his career in public service with the Maynard Fire Department.
