Capt. Anthony James, commander, Naval Surface Group Southeast, presented the team with Navy Commendation and Achievement Medals for their outstanding and rapid repair work on USS Ramage (DDG 61).
The team tackled a complex, depot-level repair of critical gas turbine exhaust leaks, expeditiously finishing the project well ahead of schedule.
This accomplishment is Navy initiative to establish and strengthen Shore Intermediate Maintenance Activities (SIMAs) at fleet concentration areas. The hands-on repair provided invaluable technical expertise to our Sailors, contributing to a more skilled and self-sufficient maintenance workforce.
This success serves as a powerful model for future maintenance operations, ensuring our ships are returned to the fleet faster and ready for any tasking. Well done, team!
