ACDPS will be hosting a career orientation. Every aspect of being a County Correctional Police Officer will be discussed with our experienced recruitment team. We’ll discuss salary, benefits, the academy, daily work life and so much more.
Orientations start promptly at 6:30 pm. Duration of the event will be approximately one hour. Business casual attire is strongly recommended. Address listed below.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR COUNTY CORRECTIONAL POLICE OFFICER
Applicants must:
• Be a U.S. citizen;
• Be a resident of New Jersey;
• Be at least 18 years of age;
• Possess a valid New Jersey driver’s license;
• Have no criminal record;
• Pass a physical examination conducted by a physician;
• Be of sound moral character verified by a background investigation;
• Pass an oral interview with the Recruiting Unit / Administrative staff;
• Pass a psychological examination;
• Pass a pre-academy physical fitness indicator test, with minimum scores of:
o 1.5 mile run in 15 minutes, 55 seconds or less and;
o 300-meter run in 70.1 seconds or less and;
o Vertical jump of 15 inches or more and;
o 24 push-ups in 1 minute or less and;
o 28 sit-ups in 1 minute or less and;

TRAINING
Successful candidates that are selected will be assigned to a 20-week Police Academy. Upon graduation the new Officer will be assigned to the Justice Facility and a Field Training Officer for an additional 3 weeks.
