The Township of Hamilton Fire Explorer Post 18 is comprised of 4 fire departments within the Township of Hamilton in New Jersey and is part of the national Learning for Life organization, a branch of the BSA. Explorers have the privilege of being exposed to a variety of experiences that many of their peers have never had the chance to encounter, let alone even consider as a possibility. Explorers

have the opportunity to serve their community by being a part of fire fighting operations and learning the trade of fire fighting by training, preparing, and responding with our local and professionally certified first responders in conjunction with other emergency services such as local police departments and rescue squads. Here are some of the roles and responsibilities that explorers will typically be involved with and/or be assisting with:
- Completing equipment and truck checks
- Emergency response
- Disaster response
- Facility/grounds maintenance and upkeep
- Hands-on training exercises and drills
- Classroom-based training
- Special events coverage
- Community outreach and fire prevention
- Department fundraising efforts

We gave out over 145 interest meeting reminder cards at Oakcrest High School today. We can't wait to see the turnout on November 7th at 7pm at Laureldale's hall on Route 50!
