๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ In honor of Flag Day, we're sharing a few more photos from Friday's Flag Day ceremony, along with photos of the rustic American flags created by our 7th grade students as part of the Old Glory 3.0 project in Mr. Person's class.

The student-crafted flags are a wonderful tribute to our nation's history and the meaning of the American flag.

Our 5th graders recently joined 5th graders from Ripley for a memorable day at Camp Onyahsa! โ˜€๏ธ

Students enjoyed kayaking and pedal boating on Chautauqua Lake, fishing in Dewittville Creek, making friendship bracelets, testing their skills in archery, and conquering a challenge course high above the creek. Along the way, they participated in team-building activities and icebreakers, creating new friendships and sharing an unforgettable experience beyond the classroom.

Our Honors 9 English students wrote more than 140 poems this year, and the top five are now finalists in the Paint Chip Poetry Contest!

Using paint chip color names as inspiration, students crafted original poems and selected their best work. Finalists were chosen through voting by 8th graders and CLCS faculty.

Now it's your turn! Read the five finalist poems and vote for your favorite in Mayville. Voting ends Friday.

Our 3rd graders recently completed the final phase of their year-long "We Make the Lakes Great" project with a hands-on field experience at Lake Erie!

Students surveyed the shoreline, collecting litter, microplastics, and other debris that can impact wildlife and water quality. Through their efforts, they removed more than 4 pounds of trash from the beach and identified 9 microplastics during their investigation.

This experience gave students the opportunity to apply their learning in a real-world setting while making a meaningful impact on the environment. We are proud of their curiosity, teamwork, and commitment to helping keep our waterways clean and healthy for future generations.
