Dangerous heat and humidity will continue through this evening. Peak heat indices are forecast to be in the 100-105F range once again, locally up to 110 south of I-80, which could result in heat related illness. Make sure to take precautions to stay cool!

It's about helping families stay safe, supporting local officials, protecting critical services, strengthening partnerships, reducing future risks, and helping communities recover after disasters.

Emergency managers work behind the scenes every day so that when emergencies happen, communities are better prepared to face them together.

Their work often goes unnoticed because success is measured not by recognition, but by safer communities and stronger outcomes.

As Emergency Management Awareness Month comes to a close, we hope you have a greater appreciation for the professionals, volunteers, and partners who work every day to build resilience across Illinois.
