Field Day was an absolute BLAST! 🎉☀️

A special shoutout to Mr. Denk for organizing an amazing Field Day, the PTA for providing the obstacle courses, Ms. Black and Mrs. Garcia for coordinating the snacks, and all of our families for their generous snack donations. Your support helped make the day extra special for our students!

Garfield recently held its annual Spelling Bee for our 4th and 5th grade students! Earlier this month, each classroom hosted its own spelling bee, and the top three spellers from each class advanced to the school-wide finals.

Congratulations to our winners: 🥇Aubrey, 🥈Cali, and 🥉 Joselyn! We are so proud of all of our participants for their hard work, preparation, and courage in competing. Keep up the great work! 😊🐝

This past weekend, our 3rd-5th grade girls who are involved in our Girls on The Run after school program ran in the Girls on the Run 5K downtown in Grant Park with all of the other Chicagoland schools who are involved with the program.

The girls trained all season for the 5K while also learning valuable social emotional lessons to install confidence, self-esteem, and joy in our girls! As the girls say at the end of every practice in their cheer, “Girls on the Run is so much fun!”

We hope to see some brand new faces next year and have some girls come back again next year! Look for more information next school year!
