It is imperative that you have every officer, family member, and any friend you've ever have oppose this Bill. We need to flood them with our objections.

The Maywood Police Department is sad to announce the passing of Retired Lieutenant Majestic Porter.

Lieutenant Porter began his career with the Maywood Police Department on, June 1, 1977. He attended the Cook County Sherrif Police Academy where he graduated in the top 5 of his class.

During Lieutenant Porter's 30 year career, at the Maywood Police Department, he held the post of Patrolman, Detective, Shift Supervisor and Patrol Commander. He also served on the 911 Board.

Lieutenant Porter was promoted by the Board of Police and Fire Commission, to the rank of Sergeant on June 14, 1990. As Sergeant, Lieutenant Porter mentored and trained officers who were under his watch.

On August 4, 2004, Lieutenant Porter was promoted to Patrol Lieutenant and held the position until his retirement on June 2, 2007.

The men and women of the Maywood Police Department, as well as the citizens of Maywood, would like to thank Lieutenant Porter for his 30 years of service to the Maywood Community. We would also like to extend our sincerest condolences and prayers to the family.

The State is talking about consolidation of Police and Fire Pensions. They are claiming it would save costs but do you trust the state?

Governor JB Pritzker (D) last month unveiled a series of proposals for how to deal with Illinois’ staggering $134 billion unfunded pension liability. Investors were cool to the proposals, which range from borrowing $2 billion in bonds to pushing out the amortization schedule by seven years.
