A todos los inquilinos en Los Ángeles: si su arrendador le pide que firme un acuerdo de pagar cualquier monto de renta que no pueda pagar ahora, NO firme ese acuerdo. Estaría efectivamente aceptando un aumento de alquiler futuro por encima del 4% (RSO) u 8 +% (NonRSO) legalmente permitido. Los propietarios se están organizando para exigir que cada inquilino firme estos acuerdos. Los acuerdos equivalen a enmiendas a su contrato de arrendamiento. ¡NO LOS FIRME! Todavía estamos en los primeros días de la crisis y no sabemos qué harán los funcionarios locales y estatales cuando se enfrenten a una retención masiva de la renta con tasas de desempleo que se espera superen el 33%. ¡NO FIRME NADA DE SU PROPIETARIO! ¡¡Difundir la palabra!! To all tenants in Los Angeles: If your landlord is asking you to sign an agreement that you'll pay back whatever rent you can't pay now, do NOT sign that agreement. You would be effectively agreeing to a future rent increase above the legally allowed 4% (RSO) or 8+% (NonRSO). The landlords are organizing themselves to demand every tenant sign these agreements. The agreements amount to amendments to your lease. DO NOT SIGN THEM! We are still in the early days of the crisis and we do not know what local and state officials will do when faced with massive withholding of rent with unemployment rates expected to hit above 33%. "In October 2016, a scathing state audit said Maywood's "weak governance" made it unable to wrestle with a more than $15-million debt that was twice the small city's operating costs.
The 51-page report listed a series of problems that stood between the 1.2-square-mile community and financial health, including political infighting, wasteful spending, questionable hiring decisions, repeated violations of the state's open meeting laws and poor administrative controls."

Authorities served search warrants at Maywood City Hall and other locations Thursday morning. In October, a scathing state audit said Maywood’s “weak governance” made it unable to wrestle with a more than $15-million debt that was twice the small city’s operating costs.

Gov. Brown signs controversial water bills, including Maywood plan

The only controversy is for the Water Companies . AB240 requires public transparency and accountability. All progress made by the water companies is because of the pressure that comes from organized people fighting for justice.
