Mazomanie Police Department

Mazomanie Police Department Law enforcement agency. Our History

In 2003, the Village of Mazomanie disbanded it’s municipal police force.

Since the summer of 2003 the Village has contracted it’s policing services through the Dane County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO). From the summer of 2003 until December 2019 the village contracted three full-time Dane County Deputy Sheriff’s to patrol the village limits. Beginning in January 2020, the village reduced the number of deputies from three to two. These deputies serve as the Village’s police

officers. Their mission reflects that of the DCSO with emphasis placed on community policing techniques.

*Hit and Run*

Looking for help identifying the suspect in a hit and run that took out 5 mailboxes near W Hudson Street and Franklin Street.

A witness was able to call in the crash at approximately 6:30pm on 11/10 and described the vehicle as an SUV or a Truck. It was seen turning onto or near S Johns St.

Vehicle will likely have passenger side front end damage.

Anybody with information please call 608-255-2345 or send me an email at [email protected]. Any ring doorbell footage of passing cars would also be of value.

Thanks!

Deputy Nate Teuscher

Hello Mazo!

Today was my last board meeting here in Mazo and it was definitely bitter sweet. I want to start off by thanking all of you for allowing me to be your deputy for the past 3 years. From the waves and hellos, to the kiddos running up to me to get the latest stickers, really made this job memorable.

With what had occurred in December in front of Heights was unbelievably scary, however, it has not deterred me wanting to get back and continue being a deputy for Dane County Sheriff’s. It has been a long healing journey for me and I’m taking it day by day making sure I can come 100% because those within the community, as well as my partners, deserve just that.

Furthermore, as I begin my return back to a work setting, I will be transitioning into a new position within the Sheriff’s Office as a Sergeant.

I have been incredibly blessed from the community and the support has been unmatched. Mazo will always hold a special place in my heart. Please take care and have a great rest of your summer!

Sergeant Alex Gonzales
