Due to the severe weather our area experienced last night and again today our area has several locations with downed power lines, as well as trees on lines awaiting Comed. We urge all citizens to please do not go near the downed lines even if you do not see it sparking. Treat all lines as if they are energized.

The Mazon Fire Department will be conducting our annual hose testing today on industry drive from 8-4, you may experience discolored water during this, sorry for the inconvenience. Annual hose testing is one of the many steps we do to achieve a low ISO score which in return keeps fire insurance rates low.

⛈️🚨 Severe Weather Reminder 🚨⛈️

The Mazon Fire Protection District would like to remind residents to stay alert and prepared as severe weather is possible in our area. Strong storms can develop quickly and may bring heavy rain, strong winds, lightning, and possible tornadoes.

Please take a few moments to prepare and keep these safety tips in mind:
🌩️ Stay Weather Aware – Monitor local forecasts and weather alerts throughout the day.
📱 Enable Emergency Alerts – Make sure your phone can receive emergency notifications.
🏠 Have a Plan – Know where to go in your home during severe weather (lowest level, interior room away from windows).
🚗 Avoid Flooded Roads – Never drive through flooded streets. Turn Around, Don’t Drown.
🔦 Be Prepared – Keep flashlights, batteries, and a charged phone ready in case of power outages.

If severe weather occurs, please avoid unnecessary travel and allow emergency crews to respond to incidents safely.
