The Tax Collectors office will be open Wednesday, August 26, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Additionally, she will be in office Monday, August 31, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

🚨 When a school bus has its red lights flashing and the stop arm extended, drivers must stop!

Stopping keeps our children safe as they board and exit the bus.

PSA if you see an animal on a property that is running said property, they probably belong to the owner. Please do not pick them up, take them to a shelter, or keep them. McKean Township has large lots and animals are usually running the lots. If you do find a stray, please post on our page and the other sites so that we can find their owners and get them home. Stating that proof of ownership is required is not your call. That is up to State Police or the Dog Catcher. The most important action is to find the owner. You can always call the township and we will assist in finding their owners through the proper channels. Thank you.

McKean Township is hiring: Duties will include: Snow plowing, roadside mowing, ditching, road maintenance, maintenance of equipment, and other related tasks. Individuals that have the ability to operate all township equipment, are skilled in mechanics, welding, and metal fabrications would be a useful asset. Minimum of Class B Commercial Driver's License including authorization to operate commercial vehicles with air brakes is required. Competitive pay, Benefits, Paid Leave, and Pension.

Hey everyone!!! Since our secret got leaked before we could make a grand announcement....it is true the Hose Company is hosting a first ever Trunk or Treat on October 16th at the McKean Rec Park. We are asking for businesses, non-profits, and even families to help make this a success by signing up to be an exhibitor! Sign up details are on the poster. To help inform Erie County’s Comprehensive Housing Strategy, the County is inviting all residents to attend community engagement Open House meetings. The goal of the meetings is to gather perspectives from Erie County residents about housing challenges they are experiencing, provide insights on housing preferences, and inform residents about housing efforts across the County. The Open Houses will not feature a formal presentation, but it will have an open format with interactive activities facilitated by the County’s consulting group, TPMA.



The Erie County Planning Department is inviting all residents to attend one of four Community Housing Open Houses:

· Corry area location on Tuesday, August 11th

· Girard area location on Wednesday, August 12th

· Edinboro area location on Tuesday, August 18th

· City of Erie area location on Tuesday, September 1st



The first three sessions will feature the same format and content, allowing residents to attend the session that best fits their schedule. The final session will feature an abridged version of the former three engagements and include content about the City of Erie’s Housing Strategy, which is a separate but related project.



RSVPs are not required, but attendees are encouraged to RSVP via the link below to help organizers plan accordingly. Full details about the events are included below:
