In case you missed it, McAlester, there has just been a significant development in the upcoming McAlester Public Library renovation project! Southeast Oklahoma Library System has just received our largest donation so far from individuals!

Steve and Patty Harrison have just made their first payment of $100,000 toward their substantial $500,000 pledge towards this project! We would like to extend our gratitude to Steve and Patty for their unwavering support of their local library and this extremely generous contribution. We hope it will inspire others in our community to consider donating as we approach the final stages of our fundraising efforts and work toward our goal of breaking ground this summer! MCALESTER LIBRARY RENOVATION UPDATE!

We wanted to share some exciting news about the renovation progress at our community's beloved McAlester Public Library! We had a productive meeting at the library yesterday with some key players in the renovation project, including Southeast Oklahoma Library System Executive Director Michael Hull, some of our local library staff, and dedicated committee members from our community.

During the meeting, we collaborated virtually with the brilliant minds at KKT Architects, Inc., the architects for our project. Together, we delved into important logistics, such as refining the exterior design, identifying the right location for our book drop, and optimizing traffic flow.

The highlight of our discussion was the overwhelming support we've received from all of you! With 90% of our fundraising goal achieved, we are thrilled to be on the brink of transforming our library into an even more amazing space for our community.

However, we're not done just yet! Executive Director Michael Hull emphasized that "We still need our whole community to get involved and help us secure that final 10%. Whether it's a one-time donation, a pledge, or exploring options like the donor wall or naming rights, every contribution counts."

This week the McAlester Public Library welcomed Southeast Oklahoma Library System Executive Director, Michael Hull, along with KKT Architects, Inc. for a meeting and tour of the facility! We discussed current issues with the building, the potential the location has, and worked through some logistics around what our community needs in a library building.
