McAlester White and McAlester Silver Mock Trial both competed today and should advance to the next round. Team White competed in Norman and is made up of juniors and sophomores. Team Silver is comprised of freshman and they competed in Tahlequah. McAlester has 4 teams this year.

Today the McAlester Mock Trial team hosted the first ever “Pat Layden Memorial Mock Trial Scrimmage.” Broken Arrow, Bixby, Savanna, and McAlester’s mock trial teams gathered at the court house today to scrimmage. Competition season starts the last week of January.

This year Mock Trial made changes to the rules allowing 7th and 8th graders to be bailiff and time keepers. I think this was a great change as it adds new interest. McAlester had an amazing group of 8th graders that learned their positions quickly and are looking forward to next year when they can take on more of a challenging role.
