The Texas Medical Board has filed a formal complaint against Daniel Christian Lee, D.O., of New Life Cosmetic Surgery & Wellness Center in McAllen, involving a patient death during a liposuction procedure.
According to the official report, the case alleges high-risk IV sedation, lack of a qualified anesthesia or airway provider, absence of CO₂ (capnography) monitoring, and failure to properly supervise staff. During the procedure, the patient reportedly suffered cardiac arrest, was later declared brain dead, and passed away days later.
This is a serious case filed with the State Office of Administrative Hearings (SOAH) and may involve potential disciplinary action against the physician’s medical license.
