Thank you to the Crawfish Boil Foundation for selecting Silver Ribbon Community Partners as one of the beneficiaries of this year’s Crawfish Boil proceeds.

This generous donation will help us provide critical support to 12–15 elderly individuals and adults with disabilities in our community who are facing a crisis—assisting with rent, utilities, medical expenses, and the purchase of durable medical equipment.

We were also honored to participate in a short interview highlighting one of our clients, Lucy Garcia. Lucy shared how grateful she was to receive support during a difficult time and how she was inspired when Ms. Ochoa saw her potential and referred her to the AARP Senior Employment Program. Today, she is proudly working with Silver Ribbon Community Partners—the same organization that once helped her.

Her story is a powerful reminder that even in challenging times, there is always hope—and that support can truly change lives. 💜

We are proud to recognize Maritza Lara, Board Member of Silver Ribbon Community Partners, for her incredible dedication and years of service to our community.

“After serving on the board for the past 10 years, I have witnessed significant changes within the organization and developed a deeper understanding of the needs of the elderly in our community. My parents instilled in me the importance of service, which has guided my commitment to giving back. I strongly believe that older adults have so much to offer, as their wisdom is shaped by a lifetime of lived experiences.
Through my work as a social worker, I have learned the true meaning of valuing others, showing respect, and giving selflessly without expecting anything in return. It is essential that we treat our residents with dignity and compassion, ensuring they are able to live their golden years in safety, comfort, and respect.”

Maritza’s compassion, leadership, and long-standing commitment continue to make a meaningful impact in the lives of older adults and families we serve.

Thank you, Maritza, for your heart and dedication. 💫
