Love is in the air! Are wedding plans in your future? 🩷💜

Our amazing team at McAllen Municipal Court is offering Free Weddings on Valentine’s Day.

Couples interested in scheduling a wedding must obtain a valid marriage license at least 72 hours prior to the ceremony and present a valid form of identification at the time of the wedding. Guests and loved ones are welcome to witness the unions.

Space is limited and appointments will be granted on a first come, first serve basis. To schedule a wedding, contact Adriana Flores, MMC Wedding Coordinator, at 956-681-2911 or [email protected].

This week, we join communities throughout Texas in celebrating Municipal Court Week, which honors the hard work and dedication of municipal judges, court clerks, court administrators, prosecutors, bailiffs, and warrant officers who work in Texas’ municipal courts. These individuals here at MMC work incredibly hard to ensure a fair and efficient administration of justice—and this week, we honor that work! 💙

As part of Municipal Court Week, MMC will post informational carousels daily about the court. We hope to better educate the public about what the court does and how it works.

Today’s carousel is “MMC by Numbers” which uses public data reported monthly by the court to the Office of Court Administration.

Hidalgo County’s Labor Day No Refusal Weekend kicks off today. Judges from across the county (including Judge Ernie Aliseda and Judge Lauren Sepúlveda from MMC) will be available to review blood draw warrants submitted by local law enforcement agencies. The No Refusal campaign will last through Sept. 2nd.

If you choose to celebrate this weekend, please do so responsibly and have a plan to get home safe!

Meet Presiding Pup Lorenzo!

Our latest Palm Valley Animal Society intern helped customers at our windows, presided over court (at least until it was snack time), showed how to obey the city’s leash law ordinance, and got all the good boy pets from our staff members!

Calling all McAllen teen volunteers!📣

Applications for volunteer attorneys and jurors for our Teen Court program are now live and will be open through Friday, May 24th, at 11:59 pm!

If you'd like to learn advocacy skills, represent real teen defendants, and learn about the criminal justice system, please apply! This group of teen volunteers will serve the Teen Court program from June - October 2024.

Applications are open to any teen aged 14 years or older who lives or goes to secondary school in the City of McAllen. Currently volunteers are limited to secondary education and college applicants are not being accepted at this time.
