Division of Diversity and Community Engagement The UOC-Rio Grande Valley University Outreach staff meets with students at target schools in the McAllen, Mission, Pharr-San Juan, Alamo and San Benito Independent School Districts.

The Center’s primary focus is to meet with target students on a monthly basis and conduct parent meetings to increase awareness of the college process. In addition to these meetings, the staff coordinate workshops that are designated to assist students and their parents as well as campus visits to familiarize students with college life.

These virtual open houses are an extension of our Hooked on College webinar series and will provide prospective 9th - 11th grade students an in-depth look at the UT Austin colleges, schools and units.

These events will provide prospective students the opportunity to learn more about the fields and majors they want to explore directly from the sources, and learn more about the resources that the colleges, school and units have to offer. The open houses will also give students a space to ask any questions that they may have about the college application process and The University of Texas at Austin.

The virtual open houses will take place on:

Thursday, May 13 from 6 – 7 p.m. CST
Tuesday, May 18 from 6 – 7 p.m. CST
Thursday, May 27 from 5 – 6 p.m. CST
Tuesday, June 1 from 5 – 6 p.m. CST
All open house events are free, and students can register to attend as many as they would like.
