After 98 years, Palace Cleaners will be closing this Friday at long last. It's been our privilege to serve the valley through three generations as more than your drycleaners. It feels like everyone in McAllen has come through our doors and we've been honored to be a part of your lives.
Throughout the years, we've keepsaked memories, restored heritage family linens, fitted excited teenagers for proms and quinceañeras, assisted recovery after fires and floods, and pressed countless pants, shirts, suits, dresses for countless occasions. We've sponsored sports teams and silent auctions and sold tickets to Boy Scout barbecues. We've given out thousands of pieces of bubble gum to your kiddos and then 20 years later, preserved their own childrens' christening gowns.
We've had an incredible run and have been privileged to work with amazing people. Thank you again for all the years and all the memories. And don't be sad... Like Bill says, "it's time for another adventure!"
If you still have an item at the cleaners, we'll have someone there from 7am - 8am most days. Otherwise, you can call Bill Stocker at 605-5056 or message us here.
For a little history: Palace Cleaners opened its doors on McAllen's Main Street in 1925. In 1951, Spencer Stocker bought the cleaners and moved it to the current north 10th location in 1952. He and Ruth Davis operated it until Bill Stocker bought into the business in 1975. Paul joined him in the last decade to continue the tradition. So much gratitude for our employees, friends, and family members who have worked with us through the years.
Please feel free to share your own memories as well ♥️
