Three local campuses welcome Sustainability in Manufacturing & Future Workforce Forum.

The forum was held at UTRGV - The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, South Texas College and Texas A&M University-Higher Education Center at McAllen this week. All three events were well attended by students and faculty resulting in engaging interactions with presenters including Valeo’s Jean-Luc di Paola-Galloni and Zobeida Gutierrez.

Topics included sustainability, innovation, mobility and the future of the regional workforce. Take-aways from the forum: impressive interactions with future workforce and commitments to build stronger connections between students, educational institutions and industry.

Valeo - a global leader in electrification, advanced driver assistance systems, sustainable manufacturing, and intelligent mobility solutions - shares the commitment with local educational institutions as a long-term partner in creating opportunities for students.

Those opportunities can extend beyond McAllen and the United States, exploring internships and career opportunities at Valeo facilities around the world; connecting our students to a truly global company and creating pathways for future careers.

Collaboration creates opportunity. Partnership drives growth.

At McAllen Economic Development Corporation some of our most important work happens by staying closely connected with the companies that already call our region home.

We were proud to participate in the Alps Alpine Supplier Conference in McAllen, bringing together more than 150 suppliers supporting the company’s North American operations. With Reynosa serving as Alps Alpine’s largest manufacturing operation in North America, this annual gathering highlights the strength of our binational region and the opportunities that exist throughout the McAllen-Reynosa industrial ecosystem.

For MEDC, supporting events like this is about more than bringing people together. It’s about strengthening relationships, connecting companies with resources, identifying opportunities for suppliers to grow or establish operations in our community, and continuing to build an environment where industry can succeed.

When our companies grow, our region grows with them.

We’re proud to work alongside Alps Alpine and our manufacturing community to keep creating opportunities on both sides of the border.

Alps Alpine hosted more than 150 suppliers supporting its North American operations at the McAllen Convention Center during the Alps Alpine Supplier Conference this week.

The conference brings together key suppliers and business partners from across the United States, Mexico, and other international markets to connect with Alps Alpine leadership, learn more about the company’s operations and priorities, and strengthen relationships throughout its supply chain.

The McAllen Economic Development Corporation appreciated the opportunity to serve as a presenter during the conference.
