🕊️ Honoring the Life and Legacy of RJ Mitte

The Valley Association for Independent Living (VAIL) joins the disability community in mourning the passing of actor, advocate, and South Texas native RJ Mitte.

He was a powerful voice for disability inclusion, authentic representation, and equal opportunities for people with disabilities. Through his work in entertainment and advocacy, he challenged stereotypes and helped change perceptions of what people with disabilities can achieve.

At VAIL, we believe that people with disabilities deserve to be seen, heard, represented, and empowered in every aspect of society. RJ's advocacy reflected these values and the principles of the Independent Living Movement.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the many individuals inspired by his work.

His legacy reminds us that representation matters, inclusion matters, and disability is an essential part of human diversity.

Rest in peace, RJ. Your contributions will not be forgotten. 💙
