The purposes of the SDRGV are: (1) to educate Democratic candidates and officeholders on the issues of the LGBT community; (2) to foster the ideals of the Democratic Party through voter education in the LGBT community; (3) to encourage LGBT participation in all levels of the Democratic Party; and (4) to screen, endorse, and support the election of fair-minded Democratic candidates to office.
