Last night, I had the opportunity to attend the 6th Annual Juneteenth “Perfecting Unity” Celebration hosted by Village In the Valley (ViVa) and the City of Edinburg-Government Cultural Arts.

It was inspiring to join community leaders, families, and organizations in celebrating freedom, culture, and unity. Events like these remind us of the importance of coming together to build stronger, more connected communities.

This week, I enjoyed attending the IDEA Public Schools Key Gala: Unlocking Possibilities in Austin and celebrating the power of education to transform lives. I’m grateful for the opportunity to connect with so many individuals and organizations who are committed to expanding opportunities for students across Texas. Events like these remind us that lasting impact happens through strong partnerships between schools, nonprofits, businesses, and community leaders. Together, we can create opportunities, open doors, and help the next generation reach their full potential.

Congratulations to IDEA Public Schools and everyone involved for hosting such a meaningful and successful event.

Last week, I traveled to Washington, DC for the Latino Unity Summit with community leaders from across the country, convened by UnidosUS, LULAC, and Mi Familia en Acción.

We discussed key issues impacting Latino communities, including the economy, immigration, health care, and the role of digital platforms in amplifying our voices.

Thank you to U.S. Congressman Henry Cuellar for meeting with us and discussing the needs of our communities. Grateful for the opportunity to connect, learn, and advocate for the families we serve.🇺🇸

Honored to be in Washington, D.C. for the 2026 Latino Unity Summit hosted by UnidosUS, LULAC, and Mi Familia en Acción.

Proud to represent VIDA as an UnidosUS Affiliate and serve as the newly elected Texas Representative for the UnidosUS Affiliate Council. Tonight’s reception brought together leaders from across the country ahead of tomorrow’s meetings on Capitol Hill to advocate for our communities and the families we serve every day. 🇺🇸✨

Today I turn 32, and I just feel absolutely blessed.

This past year has been filled with so many lessons, opportunities, challenges, growth, and unforgettable moments. Through it all, I’m most grateful for my family, my daughter, meaningful work that allows me to serve others, and the incredible people God has placed in my life.

Balancing being a mom, leading a nonprofit, going to school, serving my community, and running a campaign all at the same time hasn’t been easy, but this journey has reminded me how important it is to keep showing up with faith, gratitude, and purpose.

I truly believe the best is still ahead, and I’m excited for this next chapter. Thank you to everyone who has supported, encouraged, and believed in me along the way. So grateful for another year of life and the opportunity to continue growing, serving, and giving back.

Last night was incredibly special as VIDA was recognized as the Large Business of the Year by the RGV Hispanic Chamber.

This award reflects the hard work and resilience of our students, the dedication of our staff, board members, and the support of our partners, who believe in creating opportunities for families across the Rio Grande Valley.

I’m deeply grateful to everyone who has supported VIDA’s mission. Together, we’ve been able to secure millions of dollars in support from local entities, state and federal government, and private foundations to expand educational and workforce opportunities throughout our region.

Thank you again to the RGV Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for this incredible honor.

Last week, we had the privilege of celebrating another incredible VIDA graduation celebration alongside our partners at South Texas College — a moment that represented sacrifice, resilience, and hope for so many families across the Rio Grande Valley.🎓✨

Behind every graduate is a story of perseverance: parents balancing work and school, students overcoming obstacles, and individuals choosing to keep going despite the challenges. Seeing our students achieve this milestone reminds us why this work matters so deeply.

Congratulations to all of our graduates! We are so proud of you and excited to see the impact you will continue to make in our community. Thank you to our staff, board members, partners, supporters, and families who help make these life-changing opportunities possible.
