***Press Release***
The Vinton County Sheriff's Office made several arrests throughout the first week of May. The arrests were a result of several drug seizures, outstanding warrants, and crimes in progress.
May 1, 2026
Deputies were dispatched to Old Shurtz Road in Swan township in reference to a dispute between an Airbnb owner and guests. The Airbnb owner, Gabriel Jones, age 36 of New Plymouth, was arrested on several counts of abduction, obstructing official business, and resisting arrest. Jones was transported to SEORJ. Jones was released after posting bond. (not pictured)
Deputies responded to U.S. Highway 50 in Elk Township in reference to an individual slumped over in a vehicle in a local business parking lot. Deputies found the individual, where suspected Crack Co***ne, drug paraphernalia, and a large amount of cash were located in his vehicle. Brian Grabans, age 54 of Dayton, was arrested and transported to SEORJ. Gabans was released after posting bond. (not pictured)
Deputies took custody of Charles Peters, age 62 of McArthur, on an outstanding warrant for a probation violation. Peters was released from custody after posting bond. (not pictured)
May 2, 2026
Deputies responded to Clipner Road in Harrison Township in reference to a domestic dispute. Carl Baxter, age 52 of Chillicothe, was arrested at the scene for Domestic Violence. Baxter was transported to SEORJ (not pictured). Baxter was released May 4th on bond through Vinton County Court.
May 3, 2026
Deputies arrested Charles Collins, age 49 of Columbus, on outstanding felony warrants out of Vinton County for Burglary, and Trespass in a Habitation. Collins was transported to SEORJ where he remains in custody. (pictured)
Deputies arrested Keaton Camp (Doles), age 25 of Hamden, on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant out of Vinton County for Assault. Camp was released on May 4th after posting bond. (not pictured)
May 4, 2026
Deputies responded to a burglary in progress on Vinton Station Road in Clinton Township. Elizabeth Cook, age 36 of Dundas, and Randall Fee Jr., age 34 of Dundas, were arrested near the scene with stolen property in their possession. Both were transported to SEORJ where they remain in custody. (both pictured)
May 6, 2026
The U.S. Marshalls task force (SOFAST) apprehended Michelle Phillips, age 48 of Ray, on several outstanding felony warrants out of Vinton County for Possession of Drugs, Theft, Falsification, and Endangering Children. Phillips was transferred to the custody of the Vinton County Sheriff's Office, where she was transported to SEORJ where she remains in custody. (pictured)
Deputies and Vinton-Jackson probation arrested Bradley Day, age 34 of Circleville, on Parole Violations after a reported Domestic Violence incident. Day was transported to SEORJ where he remains in custody. (pictured)
Deputies arrested Keith Wright, age 31 of Albany, during a traffic stop on outstanding felony warrants out of Vinton County for Failure to Appear. Suspected narcotics were also located in the vehicle. Wright was transported to SEORJ, where he remains in custody. Additional charges are expected to be filed in relation to the incident. (pictured)
May 7, 2026
Deputies arrested Jeffrey Sperry, age 37 of Albany, on outstanding felony warrants out of Vinton County for Theft, and Forgery. Sperry was transported to SEORJ where he remains in custody. (pictured)
Deputies conducted a traffic stop with an ATV on Benner Road in Clinton Township. Deputies located suspected methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia after a probable cause search of the ATV. Robert Perry, age 51 of McArthur, and William Erickson, age 56 of McArthur, were arrested and transported to SEORJ, where they remain in custody. (both pictured)
Deputies arrested Lawrence Collins, age 56 of McArthur, on an outstanding felony warrant out of Vinton County for Failure to Register as a S*x Offender. Collins was transported to SEORJ where he remains in custody. (pictured)
Deputies conducted a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 50 in Richland Township. The driver, later identified as Mathew Carter, age 49 of Logan, fled from the vehicle into a wooded area, where he was later apprehended. Carter was arrested for Obstrcuting Official Business, and Criminal Trespass, and was transported to SEORJ where he remains in custody. (pictured)
