Attention everyone. Everyone that still has flood damage items and needs to throw it all away, please take it to the McArthur dumpster at 200 south walnut street and avoid using the Allensville dumpster until Monday when they will have it replaced and when that happens please do not overload the dumpster so they can keep this all going smoothly. Just give it time to be emptied! Thank you and God bless.

So this is why we have rules in place. This dumpster can not be hauled away in its current condition. Who ever left this this way, AND YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE, you need to come back and correct the situation. Otherwise we will have to hire someone to come throw the overload into the other dumpster. If that happens, we will be forced to cancel the program. This was not intended to create more work for anyone else.

Vinton County Commissioners Announce Flood Damage Dumpster Locations
VINTON COUNTY, OHIO — The Vinton County Commissioners are announcing the placement of four dumpsters throughout the county to assist residents with the disposal of property damaged by flooding.
The dumpsters will be available at the following locations:
200 South Walnut Street, McArthur — Old County Garage
58644 US Highway 50, Allensville — McArthur Fire Department, Station 2
155 Main Street, Wilkesville — Old Village Hall
These dumpsters are for flood-damaged property only. Residents are reminded that the dumpsters are not for personal household garbage or general waste.
The following items are prohibited:
Construction materials
Paint
Tires
Flammable materials
Explosives
Chemicals
Appliances
Personal household garbage
Residents are also reminded that once a dumpster is full, please do not leave items outside of the dumpster. Leaving materials outside the dumpsters creates a littering and safety issue and is not permitted.
The Vinton County Commissioners appreciate the cooperation of residents as the county works to assist those affected by flooding. Please help keep these designated areas clean and accessible for everyone who needs to dispose of flood-damaged property.

Vinton County Requests Flood Damage Information
Vinton County Emergency Management Agency (VCEMA) is asking residents who experienced flooding or flood-related damage to their homes between September 19 and September 22, 2026, to report their damage to the Vinton County EMA Office.
This information is needed to document the impact of the flooding and assist with FEMA Individual Assistance (IA) damage assessment and disaster documentation.
Residents should provide:
• Name and property address
• Phone number or email
• Date the damage occurred
• Description of the flooding and damage
• Areas of the home affected
• Major appliances or essential items damaged
• Whether the home was evacuated or temporarily uninhabitable
• Photographs of the damage, if available
• Estimated damage amount, if known
• Please add to the email any pictures you have from the incident.
Please report damage even if you do not have all the information or an exact dollar amount.

Tuesday, July 14, 2026
The Vinton County Commissioners met for their weekly meeting on July 14, 2026. Minutes of the previous week were read and with a Motion by Mr. Cozad, 2nd by Mr. Eberts they were approved.
Prosecutor, William Archer, attended the commissioners meeting asking for $20,000 additional money to help with the cost of the Siders case. If all of it is not used it will be returned. He has some help from the state but it will not cover all. The children services cases will be another expense as the county is asking for permanent custody of the children. The commissioners will discuss and determine where the money will come from.
Terri Fetherolf, Development Director, had updates; The OZ-2.0 application was submitted 7/19/26. The Opportunity Zone-2,0 is a federal program to provide tax incentive to encourage private investments in low income census tracks. This is for the west northern part of Vinton County to north Brown Township. EMS renovation is still on hold because we are waiting on Department of Commerce for the approval of their change plans. Bids are due by 5:00 pm on 7/17/26 on the demo of the interior of the sheriffs building.
Bill Faught, EMA, submitted Mitigation Plan in case of a disaster that is done and adopted into the county policy. Mr. Cozad made a Motion to approve with Mr. Eberts 2nd the motion. These are rules in case of any type of emergency.
Nick Rupert and Fred Baddn attended the meeting to discuss issues of the airport. They are looking into partnership with Hocking County as they have no airport. The fuel tank credit card program will not work until they obtain a good internet system. They are checking with Starlink. There is an issue with water leaking around an area on the side of the building. There are some trees that need taken out, but will meet with Lisa Graves to walk the lines to see which ones.
Mr. Cozad made the Motion to approve the invoice from Koorsen to repair the sprinkler system at the Job & Family Service building with Mr. Eberts 2nd the motion. All voting Aye.
Mr. Cozad made the Motion to approve the AEP contract and the Daft Solutions for the electrical work that needs done at the future EMS building with Mr. Harper stepping down to approve. Mr. Cozad and Mr. Harper Aye with Mr. Eberts Nay.
Mr. Eberts made the Motion to give a pay raise to the dog warden, Mike Klein $17.00 and to assistant maintenance, Kurt Brozac $14.00 with Mr. Cozad 2nd the motion. All voting Aye.
Aidan Reagh, Department of Tourism Director gave us updates on the small grants. These are for people that want to start some business that pertains to tourism. Also, they will be redoing their website. There is a meeting today at noon.
Mr. Eberts made the Motion, 2nd by Mr. Cozad to approve Edit list 28 bills, transfers, appropriation approved and to adjourn the meeting. Roll call showing all voting Aye.
