Today, the McCleary Police Department honors and remembers the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend โ€” it is a time to reflect on the courage, dedication, and selflessness of those who gave their lives to protect the freedoms we enjoy every day. We are forever grateful to our fallen heroes and the families who carry their legacy forward.

As we gather with family and friends today, we ask our community to take a moment to remember those who never made it home.

From all of us at the McCleary Police Department, thank you to our Gold Star families, veterans, and active-duty service members. Your sacrifice and service will never be forgotten. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

McCleary Police Department has been in contact with Puget Sound South to help meet community needs. Their mission is to build twin-size beds from raw lumber and, along with mattresses, pillows, and bedding, deliver and assemble them in the homes of children ages 3 to 17 who do not have a bed of their own. Puget Sound South is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting communities and families in need.

Itโ€™s Telecommunicators Week, and we want to take a minute to recognize the people behind the calls at Grays Harbor - 911 Communications!

A lot happens on the other end of those calls that people donโ€™t see; quick decisions, constant communication, and keeping things moving behind the scenes so responders can do their jobs.

We see the hard work, the long shifts, and the care you put into every call. Thank you from MCPD for showing up for our community day in and day out! ๐Ÿ’›

On March 30, 2026, at approximately 1800 hours, McCleary officers were conducting extra patrol in the 200 block of W. Simpson Avenue due to prior complaints of suspicious activity. During the patrol, officers located a suspicious vehicle belonging to a male subject known to have multiple outstanding arrest warrants.

Officers subsequently located the subject inside a nearby business, identified him, and confirmed one of his active warrants. The subject was taken into custody on the confirmed warrant, which was related to non-violent traffic offenses. He was transported and booked into jail without incident.

Today, Officer Owen had the chance to visit the McCleary School and read with some amazing students. The conversations around community and the role of police officers were thoughtful and inspiring. Moments like these remind us how powerful early connections can be. Huge thanks to McCleary School Dist #65 for partnering with us to build strong community relationships! We can't wait to be back. ๐Ÿ’š
