Goals and Objectives of the German Township Police Department: The goal of the German Township Police Department is to be one of the best departments in the county. The German Township Police Department will strive to provide the citizens of German Township with the most community focused, effective police service available within the confines of existing resources. 1. Develop a working relationship with other law enforcement agencies, the citizens of the township, patrons, and the business community. 2. Work with other local agencies to evaluate and update the response to large scale emergencies through disaster planning and incident command procedures. 3. Identify and minimize crime in our jurisdiction through collaborative problem solving efforts. 4. Develop new ways to involve the police department in the community. 5. Increase training, staff capabilities and promote professionalism 6. Continue to review and update policy and procedures to keep pace with legal issues and changes. 7. Create an awards program for the Officers of German Township Police Department in order to provide recognition of going above the call of duty. The German Township Police Department will attain its goal by following these objectives: Have innovative, honest, and responsive leadership. The Officers should never be satisfied with status quo, but always improve all of the departments operations. The Officers will set the tone of professionalism and integrity. 1. Provide realistic department guidelines and policies. 2. Promote police conduct that is responsive and sensitive to the needs of the community. 3. Require aggressive crime fighting to improve the utilization of patrol and investigative resources in the identification, conviction of individuals committing criminal activity within our jurisdiction. 4. Require professional work ethic by all officers. 5. Stress the responsibility for all employees to be accountable to the department and community for their actions.
