The front office is a little more crowded these days.
Say hello to Mabel 👋 She’s a full-size simulator (you’ve probably seen her in action at other Extension/ANPC events?), and her calf Marvin is waiting in the wings for his grand entrance.

They're here for the Junior Producers Workshop happening June 9. We're 100% certain the birth will happen that day 😉

Mice have been in the news lately because they can spread potentially deadly diseases such as hantavirus. Fortunately, hantavirus is rare in our area, but we still need to take precautions.

Rodents can also spread various types of bacteria, including salmonella. Without proper sanitation procedures, the germs can make their way to food from surfaces or our hands.

Recent rains have provided some needed relief from dusty conditions across much of North Dakota. The effects of strong winds and dry soils have been a visible challenge for farmers during spring planting and have been an unpleasant companion to outdoor activities.

Dusty conditions can also pose cattle health challenges that producers should be aware of, according to Dr. Jake Galbreath, North Dakota State University Extension veterinarian. https://www.ag.ndsu.edu/news/newsreleases/2026/may/dry-dusty-conditions-can-increase-pneumonia-risk-in-cattle-warns-ndsu-extension-vet
