We had our Summer Read kickoff yesterday after school here at the library. We served over 150 root beer floats! Thank you to the Friends of the Library for supplying the root beer and ice cream. We saw lots of smiling faces. 😊😋

Current and former Library Staff treated Sarah Simons and her class to ice cream today. Sarah is retiring after 34 years and she truly holds a special place in our hearts❤️.

Sarah has visited the library many times over the years with her classes to check out books and again after school to either return books or pick up class holds.

We have seen firsthand the care and dedication she puts into helping each student find the right book.

Sarah also holds the distinction of being the library’s second-highest patron for checkouts in 2025 and is the only patron for whom we have ever overridden the system’s 100-book checkout limit to accommodate her classroom’s needs.

Her commitment to fostering a love of reading in her students has truly made a lasting impact.

Sarah has always been invested in our library and its role and service in and for our community. She served as a board member and president from 2019-2025 and was instrumental in leading our library through a levy request and Covid.

Congrats on your well deserved retirement. She won’t be completely enjoying her time off as we will welcome her on our staff as a sub clerk beginning September 1.

😎Select the session appropriate for your child - either grade completed or entering.
