Congratulations to Officer Olivia Morgan on her completion of Southwest Mississippi Community College Licensed Practical Nursing Program—with honors as a distinguished graduate!

Officer Morgan has been a member of the McComb Police Department since 2022. In 2025, she made the decision to pursue her nursing career, while serving with MPD in a part-time capacity.

(Fun fact: this is only ONE of her many degrees—she is well educated!)

Way to go, Nurse Morgan! You are proof that it can be done !

Huge congratulations to our newest officer, Keaira Patterson, who has completed the requirements of the Southern Regional Public Safety Institute (SRPSI) police academy today. She is now certified by the state of Mississippi to execute the tasks and duties of this area of public service.

Officer Patterson, you have exceeded our expectations and we are so excited to witness you grow in your calling. 11 weeks of determination and commitment have brought you to this amazing achievement.

The training does not end here! Officer Patterson will now begin McComb Police Department’s 12-week Field Training Officer (FTO) program, where she will learn and perform skills to operate as a solo officer.

Congratulations are in order for the McComb Exchange Club 2026 Officer of the Year: Officer Tyreek Magee.

Officer Magee has been with McComb Police Department for only three months and has already earned this significant achievement. Officer Magee proves consistent dedication to serving our community in a way that involves the occasional foot chase. 😆

Thank you for what you do. You truly are dedicated to ensuring a safe environment for our citizens. Your watchful eye and willingness to go the extra mile are greatly appreciated.

If you see Officer Magee out and about, simply say to him, “What’s up, twin?” You will be his best friend for life! Congratulations, again!

The City of McComb City Police Department is so very proud to present Officer Shania Coney as a recipient of the Mississippi “Top Cop” Award.

This is a state recognition—presented to law enforcement officers from all over the state of Mississippi, acknowledging their commitment to service and duty.

Officer Shania Coney exhibits the qualities of an officer who gives her all, every day. She has overcome many days of trials and, sometimes, self-doubt. She is a fine example of what it means to overcome everything that you thought would break you.
