Hello everyone,
Hope you had a wonderful UTA. With Thanksgiving approaching I thought it would be nice to talk about some of the benefits of gratitude. Gratitude is the expression of thankfulness. It includes appreciation of the every day activities we engage in. Sometimes the things we take for granted. Here are a few quick statistics I found regarding the benefits of gratitude.
"Regular gratitude journaling has been shown to result in 5% to 15% increases in optimism and 25% increased sleep quality."
"Gratitude reduces toxic aggression, frustration, and regret even after receiving negative feedback."
"Over 90% of American teens and adults indicated that expressing gratitude made them “extremely happy” or “somewhat happy”."
"A five-minute daily gratitude journal can increase long-term well-being by 10%"

There are many more statistics that show why practicing gratitude is worth the effort. Here are a few simple ways that you can accomplish this in your day to day life.
1. Take 5-10 minutes to journal about what you are thankful/grateful for.
2. Say out loud or pray about what you are thankful for.
3. Tell family, friends, and co-workers why you are grateful for them.
4. Take turns during a meal telling each other what you are grateful for.
This is just a few ideas please feel free to mention some ways you practice gratitude in the comments. The 931st ARW Chapel staff appreciate all of you and the great work you are doing. Hope you have a wonderful month.
Sincerely,
TSgt Love, Stephen P.
