MEDC strives to build a dynamic and vibrant community in McCook, Nebraska through business and housing development by providing technical skills, offering educational programs and supporting entrepreneurial ventures. They had one goal: to facilitate the formation, retention, attraction and expansion of business. Since their inception, they've done just that, giving rise to major employers in the c
ommunity such as Valmont, the Department of Corrections Work Ethic Camp and the redevelopment of the Keystone Hotel into the Keystone Business Center. With the changes in rural America and the shifting landscape in economic development, the organization has shifted and broadened its purpose. We've focused our efforts on housing through developments including Kelly Creek Apartments, Clary Village and Quillan Courts housing complexes. We've designed programs for investment in business improvement and partnered with local agencies to bring educational resources to our business community. Today, they aspire further develop the business climate in McCook and the surrounding area. MEDC shares in the responsibility to develop the community into the best version of itself by developing opportunities to live, to work and to enjoy southwest Nebraska.
