🎉 Fourth Quarter Honor Business – Whitaker’s Furniture 🎉
As Director, I have the opportunity to attend many meetings throughout the week where community partners come together to discuss the needs of our community and how we can continue working together to address them.
At a recent meeting hosted by Community Hospital, representatives from several local organizations gathered to share updates on programs and services that support residents across our area. During that discussion, Barb Ostrum, a retiree of the Community Action Partnership of Mid-Nebraska, shared something truly special about one of our Chamber members.
For years, Whitaker's Furniture has quietly volunteered their time, truck, and fuel to help transport food commodities from Arapahoe to McCook on Saturday mornings. These commodities help provide food for around 80 people in our community. Barb also shared that for many years Whitaker’s has assisted with transporting toys and clothing, helping ensure families have access to important resources.
Owners Jeff Whitaker and Terri Gray did not seek recognition for their generosity, and this honor came as a surprise to them. However, their dedication to our community is something worth celebrating.
As Whitaker’s Furniture celebrates 60 years in business, the Chamber is proud to recognize them as our Fourth Quarter Honor Business and thank them for the many ways they continue to serve our community.
