This was in Florida but yes, here is your reminder that temperatures are starting to climb for the summer and this pup was lucky that police were nearby. But in recent days across the country at least four children were left in hot cars and unfortunately they died. Please remember to check your seats for your children and pets.

This was a great class this weekend at the Nebraska State Volunteer Firefighters Association State Fire School in Grand Island! Thanks to the Grand Island Fire Fighters IAFF Local 647 for teaching this class and for their members for volunteering their time to help us firefighters from around the state to learn new some new skills and to sharpen our search tactics. It’s always a great learning and training experience when you get learn stuff like this from the people who train and do this daily for a career! Also thanks to the Grand Island Fire Department for the use of their equipment and facilities this past weekend too!

No matter how old there’s always something that can be done at the fire station! He helped water plants and pulled a few weeds cleaning up for graduation weekend! Also a big thank to the McCool FFA for the beautiful flower arrangements to spruce the station up for the weekend! Thank you to everyone that helped clean up the landscaping this weekend to keep the station looking in top shape!

Friendly reminder, if you are issued a burn permit you have to monitor the fire until it is completely extinguished or properly covered, if coal pile is left on surface it should be monitored for several days after the burn, or until cold to the touch.

If you have had a permit the past few days please go back and check on those piles and watch them frequently.

IF A TORNADO WARNING IS ISSUED FOR MCCOOL JUNCTION PLEASE COME TO THE FIRE DEPARTMENT TO SEEK SHELTER.
